There are different types of pipes passing through foundation walls that bring water, gas, waste, and electricity in and out of our homes. When the ground gets saturated, water fills the hole in the wall around the pipe and exerts pressure on the cement seal. Since exterior excavation down to the level of most of these pipes is cost prohibitive, many choose to try and fix it with more hydraulic cement, paint, caulking, or even spray-on coatings in a can. We fix it from the inside too, but our process is a little different.

Leaking Pipe Penetration
Most basements will have pipes in them that extend out to other areas of the home, or outside of the foundation. Over time, the seals around these pipes may become weak and start to gradually lose their holding power. When this happens, it becomes much more likely that water can leak out of them and onto your basement walls, floor, or ceiling. You will know that you have this problem under your home if you can visibly see water stains in these areas.
T here are many ways in which leaks and water damage can get into your home, and ruin your basement. Water looks for the path of least resistance, and finds the easiest points of entry to get into your home. Identifying warning signs of leaks can help you to do something about it sooner rather than later, before any more damage occurs. Pipes, vents, ducts, and conduits are all required to enter the building at some point in order to connect your home to services like gas and water.
